Ok so it was a 10-15 minutes walk away from union square and it was all walkable so in terms of location it was excellent. Although I was told by hotel staff about the bart station being close by I did not end up using it. However to get to union square there was one street that you had to cross and as it got dark out, it became very secluded and a significant number of people were experiencing homelessness in it. As for the hotel for the price and in terms of a budget hotel I think it was excellent, very clean, housekeeping included, fridge and microwave available, and even a light breakfast included. However it did not have a closet and the receptionist was barely there but that did not impact our stay, the check in was smooth and you can leave your keys at the door to check out. I read some complaints about the noise at night but I didn’t face any such problems.

My husband and I were in San Francisco for him to have surgery at the UCSF hospital, so I needed a place for a week. I chose City Center Inn & Suites because the room had a microwave and a little refrigerator. I wanted free parking and breakfast (even continental) and City Center Inn & Suites had all 4 and the hotel was very clean and the staff was pleasant and professional. We were very happy with our choice and if we need to go back to San Francisco for anything, we will definitely stay at City Center Inn & Suites again.

The room had a good amount of space for three adults and one child to move around. Had a couch,, two tables and two chairs. Was called an executive suite. Appreciated the extra security for the parking lot: staff would open and shut a garage door for car departures and arrivals to keep undesirables out of the parking lot. The hotel security was good for the price paid.

Having read recent bad reviews I was a bit concerned but most are unfounded. Yes some parts of floor are a bit wonky but I was assured that the building has always been like that. Hot shower, comfy bed, free breakfast, good staff. If you want the Ritz go stay there this is good budget accommodation and pay the price. This is an OK budget hotel.

Considering the location being in SOMA which is a bit dodgy, I was impressed with how secure the hotel was. There were no people hanging around outside and access into the hotel through the secure entrance was quick, regardless of the time. The Staff were always helpful and willing to offer assistance and suggestions.
